The Libyan international “Osama al-sherimi”, the average field of the Tunisian African club, closed the door to leave the ranks of his club during the current transfer window, preferring to continue his career in Tunisia and postpone the idea of having a European experience, after receiving an official offer from the Belgian club Royal Virton.
Sources from inside the Tunisian league champion revealed that the 25-year-old player did not hesitate to return the Belgian Offer, which amounted to about (350 thousand euros), and financial reservation was not the only reason for this decision, but the biggest motivation came from his desire to compete in the African Champions League in the shirt of the new Bab team, the first continental participation in his football career.
Al-sharimi is one of the main pillars on which the coach “Maher al-Kanzari” relies in the center of the field since he joined the team in the summer of 2025 coming from the Libyan club Swehli with a contract extending until the summer of 2027; where he contributed effectively to the crowning of the team with the title of the Tunisian Premier League during his first season, and continued his steady presence in the basic formation with the start of the new season.
The player’s decision on his future comes at an important time for the Tunisian team, which is preparing for a fateful confrontation against Congolese Mazembe in the second round of the African Champions League, as the two sides meet back on October 17 before the return meeting on the 25th of the same month.
