The stars of the golden generation of the Manchester United club ignited the sporting atmosphere in England with fiery statements about the accusations and financial issues that pursue the arch neighbor Manchester City, amid widespread anticipation of decisions that could turn the balance of the Premier League upside down.
The Legend of the midfield “Paul Scholes” expressed his anger in his usual frank way, rejecting the tone of tolerance shown by some former players about City titles. “I constantly hear former colleagues saying that they want to take away the cups from them, but they don’t want their medals,” said Scholes… Fuck that, I’m a greedy person; I want my medal.”
On the other hand, sports analyst and former United captain Gary Neville put City’s management in a legal and moral quandary, stressing that the status quo is impossible to remain in the event of convictions, Neville told Sky Sports: “It is difficult to imagine how the owners of Manchester City can comply with the owners and managers Test in this country if the verdict remains the same. The fact is that due to the illegal owners of clubs, more stringent rules exist. It will be difficult for the owners of Manchester City to maintain their legal status.”
Explaining the social dimension of the crisis, Neville continued: “clubs are considered protected assets, community assets, due to their importance to fans and residents of the city, so the owners must comply with the rules and laws stipulated in the test. The only appropriate punishment is to apply the owners and managers test first, and then look at the achievements over the period and decide whether to continue to apply it.”
