The Spanish club Barcelona continued its strong performances and its continental glow in the Champions League tournament, after it succeeded in converting its delay with a surprise goal to a wide and deserved victory with four goals against one goal against its host Galatasaray, in the fiery confrontation that brought together the two parties on Tuesday evening at the Ali Sami Yen stadium, to calculate the second round of the league stage for the 2026/2027 season.
Despite the early pressure imposed by the guests, the hosts took advantage of the Catalan goal to advance in the 28th minute through Alexey batrakov’s shot, which changed course after touching the foot of defender Gerard Martin. The Turkish team almost doubled the score quickly through Paris player Albert Yilmaz, but video technology intervened to cancel the goal for offside, so Barcelona returned and grabbed the equalizer at a crucial time before the end of the first half, specifically at the 43rd minute, when Portuguese Joao Cancelo followed a ball brilliantly extracted by Dani Olmo in front of the operating area.
In the second half, the battalion of the German coach hansy flick revealed its fangs and imposed a sweeping offensive rhythm that decided things within a few minutes. The second goal came via a neat header from Firmin Lopez in the 50th minute, taking advantage of a measured cross from the young winger Lamin Yamal, who returned just three minutes later to create the third goal for his teammate Anthony Gordon. Before the middle of the second half, Karim Ademi concluded the festival of goals by scoring the fourth goal in the 64th minute following an assist from Gabriel Jesus.
With this victory, the Catalan giant continued its wide winning streak after its opening victory over the Dutch Feyenoord by five, to raise its score to a full six points and top the league table, while the task of Galatasaray, who remained in thirty-fourth place without a balance of points after receiving the second defeat in a row in the competition, was complicated.
