Mohamed Hany, the right-back for Al Ahly and the Egyptian national team, has bid farewell to the former technical staff of the Pharaohs led by Hossam Hassan and his brother Ibrahim Hassan, following the official conclusion of their tenure with the national team. The Egyptian Football Association (EFA), headed by Hany Abo Rida, had previously decided to thank the twin brothers and their coaching staff and end their mission with the national team.
Through his official Instagram account, Hany shared a message of gratitude that read: “Thank you for all your effort, hard work, and achievements, and best of luck in what lies ahead.” Numbers highlight a prominent role for Mohamed Hany under the leadership of “The Dean,” as he featured in 33 out of the total 38 matches managed by Hossam Hassan for the national team.
Alongside coach Hossam Hassan, Mohamed Hany achieved 21 victories, 10 draws, and 7 defeats, while successfully providing 5 assists for his teammates during that period. Attention is now turning toward Ali Maher taking over the technical leadership of the national team as Hossam Hassan’s successor, as he prepares to begin his official mission with matches against Malawi on November 13 and 17 as part of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
