تشهد كواليس الاتحاد العربي لكرة القدم نشاط ملحوظ لحسم مصير البطولة العربية للأندية وإعادتها إلى الواجهة من جديد، وسط نقاشات موسعة حول أنسب توقيت وصيغة لإقامتها.

وأكد المهندس “هاني أبو ريدة” رئيس الاتحاد المصري لكرة القدم، أن ملف عودة المسابقة تصدر جدول أعمال الاجتماعات الأخيرة للاتحاد العربي، مشددا على وجود رغبة واضحة في استمرار البطولة والعمل على تذليل كافة العقبات التنظيمية التي تقف أمامها.

وتبرز أزمة ازدحام الروزنامة الكروية كأكبر التحديات التي تواجه المنظمين، نظرا لتكدس المباريات والارتباطات الرسمية للأندية والمنتخبات قاريا وعالميا، الأمر الذي يدفع المسؤولين لإجراء مفاوضات مستمرة وتنسيق مباشر مع الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم للوصول إلى مواعيد ملائمة لا تتعارض مع المسابقات الأخرى.

وقال أبو ريدة في تصريحات صحفية: “اجتماع الاتحاد العربي كان مثمرًا، وتم خلاله مناقشة البطولات القادمة للاتحاد العربي، ومن بينها تنظيم البطولة العربية للأندية، وتمت مناقشة تنظيم البطولة العربية للأندية، لكن الأجندة صعبة جدًا في هذه الفترة، سواء على مستوى المنتخبات أو الأندية، بسبب ازدحامها، ونحاول إيجاد حلول وطريقة مثلى لإقامة بطولاتنا، وذلك بالتنسيق مع الفيفا في مواعيد مناسبة”.

وعلى صعيد متصل، تتردد أنباء قوية داخل الأوساط الرياضية حول اقتراب مصر من نيل شرف استضافة النسخة القادمة والمحتمل إقامتها خلال عام 2027، بعد توقف دام سنوات منذ آخر نسخة احتضنتها المملكة العربية السعودية عام 2023 وحصد لقبها نادي النصر.

Behind the scenes of the Arab Football Federation is witnessing a remarkable activity to resolve the fate of the Arab Club Championship and bring it back to the forefront again, amid extensive discussions about the most appropriate timing and format for its holding.

Hany Abu Rida, president of the Egyptian Football Federation, stressed that the file of the return of the competition tops the agenda of the recent meetings of the Arab Federation, stressing that there is a clear desire to continue the Championship and work to overcome all the organizational obstacles that stand in front of it.

The football calendar congestion crisis is emerging as the biggest challenge facing the organizers, due to the accumulation of matches and official engagements of clubs and national teams on the continent and globally, which pushes officials to conduct continuous negotiations and direct coordination with FIFA to reach convenient dates that do not conflict with other competitions.

Abu Rida said in a press statement: “the meeting of the Arab Federation was fruitful, during which the upcoming tournaments of the Arab Federation were discussed, including the organization of the Arab Clubs Championship, and the organization of the Arab Clubs Championship was discussed, but the agenda is very difficult at this period, whether at the level of teams or clubs, because of its congestion, and we are trying to find solutions and an optimal way to hold our championships, in coordination with FIFA on appropriate dates.

On a related note, there are strong news reports within the sports circles about Egypt’s approach to winning the honor of hosting the next edition, which is likely to be held in 2027, after a hiatus of years since the last edition was hosted by Saudi Arabia in 2023 and won the title of Al-Nasr Club.
