The Turkish city of Konya is scheduled to host “Palestine Day” on Wednesday, September 30, 2026. The gathering comes as part of the broader OIC Youth Capital celebrations for 2026, organized collaboratively by the Turkish Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Konya Metropolitan Municipality, and the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum.
Organized under the unifying motto “Our Home Is Your Home,” the itinerary blends advocacy, youth engagement, and cultural exhibitions. The Selcuklu Congress Center will stage dedicated hearings for the “Gaza Tribunal,” followed immediately by the Palestinian Youth Forum. This platform gathers athletes, thought leaders, and young advocates to examine grassroots solidarity campaigns, global awareness initiatives, and the future trajectory of the Palestinian cause.
The day concludes on the football pitch with an evening friendly between the Palestinian reserve national team and Turkish Süper Lig side Konyaspor, kicking off at 8:00 PM local time at the Konya Metropolitan Stadium.
This friendly matchup carries deep emotional resonance for the Palestinian side. Given the ongoing obstacles that have historically restricted the national squad from staging international matches on home soil, the Konya fixture provides a welcomed stage to play before an energetic Turkish crowd united in solidarity with Palestine.
