The Norwegian striker “Erling Haaland” continues to prove his exceptional scoring abilities with Manchester City, as he aims to break more records in the English Premier League. Despite being the fastest player to reach 100 goals in the history of the competition and holding the record for the most goals in a single season, his passion for scoring does not stop.
A strong start and a consecutive scoring streak.
After failing to score in the opening round, Haaland managed to find the net in six consecutive league matches, scoring eight goals. And with the addition of his four goals in the UEFA Champions League, his total rises to 12 goals in various competitions.
At the level of the major European leagues, only Bayer Leverkusen’s striker Patrik Schick shares this consecutive scoring streak with him. Despite the rumors linking him to major clubs like Barcelona and Bayern Munich, and the uncertainty surrounding the team’s future, the Norwegian star remains focused on delivering on the pitch.
The Jamie Vardy Challenge
Haaland has his sights set on the record held by Jamie Vardy, who managed to score in 11 consecutive matches during the 2015-2016 season. The City striker is currently just steps away from approaching this record that has stood for years.
Manchester City is facing tough matches in the upcoming rounds against Aston Villa, Brighton, Nottingham Forest, Fulham, and Arsenal. And if he continues to score in these matches, the encounter against Leeds United could be a golden opportunity for him to make history.
Focusing on team service
Despite his close proximity to breaking records, Haaland always emphasizes that his individual goals come second to the team’s interests. He focuses on achieving victories and accumulating points during his appearances, without getting preoccupied with individual scoring tallies or the records set by league legends. The Manchester City coaching staff, led by Enzo Maresca, seeks to leverage Haaland’s high scoring readiness to continue winning, especially with the absences the team is facing in the attacking line.
