The friendly confrontation that was going to bring together the Moroccan national team with its Ghanaian counterpart came out of the calculations of the current international break, after the parties settled on canceling the meeting that was scheduled to be held next Sunday at the Tangier grand stadium, as part of the program of preparing the Atlas Lions for the upcoming official competitions.
The announcement came through the communication director of the Ghana Football Federation, Henry Asante, who stated that his country’s federation notified the Royal Moroccan Football University of the cancellation decision officially, preferring not to address the details that led to this sudden action.
On the other hand, informed sources revealed that the real reason behind the cancellation of the trip is due to severe financial disputes that arose between the Ghanaian players and the officials of the Federation regarding overdue dues, which prompted a set of basic elements to announce the abstention from traveling to Morocco, to end the crisis by closing the curtain on the match and disrupting Moroccan readiness plans.
