بدأ الجهاز الطبي للنادي الأهلي تطبيق بروتوكول الوقاية المشدد قبل التوجه إلى العاصمة الأوغندية، حيث خضع اللاعبون وأعضاء الطاقم الفني لحملة تطعيمات شاملة، تماشيًا مع الاشتراطات الصحية الصارمة المعتمدة عند السفر إلى البلدان الإفريقية لتفادي أي عوارض صحية طارئة خلال المهمة القارية.
ويأتي هذا التحرك الطبي المبكر في إطار التحضيرات لملاقاة فريق كيتارا الأوغندي في السابع عشر من أكتوبر الحالي، لحساب ذهاب دور الـ32 لمسابقة كأس الكونفيدرالية الإفريقية، ووعلى الصعيد المحلي، يخوض الأهلي لقاءه الافتتاحي في بطولة كأس عاصمة مصر أمام فريق بترول أسيوط يوم 7 أكتوبر في تمام 5:00 مساء.
ويبحث النادي الأهلي عن ضربة بداية قوية ضمن منافسات المجموعة الثالثة، التي تضم أيضًا فرق الجونة وإنبي والمقاولون العرب والشرقية للدخان، وتمثل موقعة أسيوط محطة إعداد حاسمة لكتيبة المارد الأحمر، إذ يعتبرها الجهاز الفني الاختبار الأخير لتجهيز العناصر الأساسية ووضع الرتوش النهائية قبل الصدام المرتقب ضد الغريم التقليدي الزمالك في بطولة الدوري الممتاز.
