حرص المدرب الفرنسي “زين الدين زيدان” على توجيه رسالة تقدير ودعم واضحة لأسطورة كرة القدم وقائد منتخب البرتغال “كريستيانو رونالدو”، في ظل حالة الجدل الكبيرة التي أحاطت بوضعه مؤخرًا رفقة منتخب بلاده، وجاء حديث زيدان خلال المؤتمر الصحفي التقديمي لمواجهة فرنسا وبلجيكا ضمن منافسات دوري الأمم الأوروبية، ليعيد إلى الأذهان الشراكة التاريخية التي جمعت الثنائي داخل أسوار ريال مدريد.

وأكد المدرب الفرنسي أنه شعر بامتياز كبير عندما تولى الإشراف على الدون البرتغالي، مشيرًا إلى أن مسيرته الاستثنائية تفرض احترامها على الجميع ولا يمكن التقليل منها بأي شكل، حيث قال: “يجب الاعتراف بمسيرته الكبيرة. كنت محظوظا بتدريبه، لقد جعلني أفوز بالكثير من الألقاب. تحية لك يا كريستيانو! لطالما كنت أكن احتراما كبيرا لكل من شاركتهم الوقت”.

وجاءت هذه المساندة في توقيت حساس يمر به نجم النصر السعودي مع منتخب بلاده، بعدما جلس بديلًا في لقاء النرويج عقب مشاركته أساسيًا في المباراة الأولى، ثم قرر مغادرة معسكر بلاده والعودة إلى الرياض للانخراط في تدريبات فريقه، وهو ما فتح باب التكهنات والتساؤلات واسعًا بشأن مستقبله على الصعيد الدولي.
