The Portuguese “João Cancelo,” defender of FC Barcelona, firmly responded to the wave of criticism he faced recently, just a few days before the clash with arch-rival Real Madrid in the Spanish league summit.

This move came after the Catalan team stumbled and fell with a score of two to four, in a match that saw fingers pointed at some elements of the backline. Cancelo chose his personal account on the “Instagram” platform to send a direct and strong message through the story feature, in which he wrote: “Everyone becomes an expert from the stands…” I want to see you step onto the pitch and handle the pressure.

Cancelo represents a prominent tactical asset in the plans of German coach Hans Flick, thanks to his high ability to occupy both the right and left back positions with equal efficiency. And during his nine appearances this season, the player has clearly made his mark by contributing to four goals, scoring two and assisting two for his teammates.

Despite its recent continental setback, Barcelona is experiencing remarkable local stability, sitting at the top of the La Liga standings with a perfect score of 27 points from nine matches, with a comfortable lead over its pursuers, Atlético Madrid in second place and Real Madrid in third place with 21 points.
