من جهته، حسم خورخي جيسوس الجدل الفني في تصريحاته الصحفية، مؤكدًا أن القرارات التكتيكية حق أصيل للجهاز الفني وحده، ومشددًا على أن النجومية والتاريخ العريق لا يمنحان أي عنصر في التشكيلة حصانة خاصة أو تمييزًا عن باقي اللاعبين، موضحًا أنه يملك القرار النهائي في وضع قائمة مباراة الدنمارك المقبلة بدوري الأمم الأوروبية.
