Spanish football witnessed a major milestone on Thursday as CD Eldense officially confirmed that Argentine legend Lionel Messi has acquired ownership of the club, marking the start of a transformative era for the historic side founded in 1921.
The club stated that Messi’s arrival at the helm of the ownership group anchors an ambitious, long-term roadmap. This initiative aims to elevate the club’s athletic, institutional, and social standing while expanding its competitive footprint across the Spanish league system.
Furthermore, the club emphasized that this project intends to solidify Eldense’s presence within professional football, all while honoring its longstanding identity, heritage, and the deep emotional connection of its supporters to the iconic blue and red colors.
However, the final execution of the agreement remains subject to standard regulatory procedures. Under the legal framework established by Spanish sports law, the transaction requires formal ratification from the Spanish High Council for Sports (CSD) before taking full legal effect
