In the English league, a player may pay for a passing tactical error, but outside the green rectangle, a forgotten routine paper may lead him directly to the corridors of the courts, this reality was experienced by the Egyptian star “Omar marmoush” recently after he found his name circulating in the judicial records in the United Kingdom, not because of a traffic violation or reckless driving, but as a result of neglecting a simple legal procedure related to his luxury car, according to media reports quoted by matchday central sports platform.
The story began when the British drivers and Vehicles Licensing Agency set its eyes on the player’s McLaren 720S car, which is worth more than a quarter of a million pounds sterling.despite the great value of the vehicle, which draws attention wherever it is, the authorities discovered that it was parked without valid insurance cover, and the player did not officially notify the competent authorities to stop using it or take it out of service on public roads, which is a mandatory and strict requirement in Britain for every vehicle not covered by insurance.
The authority tried to communicate with the Egyptian international to settle the problem amicably, and sent multiple correspondence to his former residence in Manchester before his departure to London, but those notifications remained pending without a response or official action from him, and with ignoring the payment of an initial settlement fine imposed last summer, the file was transferred directly to the Magistrates Court in “Teesside” for legal decision.
The case was settled according to the British system of individual non-criminal cases, which are conducted without public hearings, to end with the official conviction of marmosh, but the remarkable and exciting in the details of the verdict are the financial figures; while the value of his final transfer to the Tottenham ranks is close to (60 million pounds sterling), the total judicial punishment did not exceed (408 pounds sterling) only, divided between a basic fine of 220 pounds, court fees and the Victims Support Fund.
