Chelsea returned with the full three points from the Everton stadium after beating the hosts with two goals without reply, in the meeting that brought the two parties together on Saturday evening as part of the confrontations of the seventh round of the English Premier League football competitions.

The real excitement began with the start of the second half whistle, as only a few seconds passed until Portuguese Pedro Neto managed to open the scoring for the guests in the 46th minute, taking advantage of a precise pass from his teammate Joriel Hato that put him in an ideal position to shake the net.

Despite Everton’s attempts to adjust the score during the remaining minutes, Neto continued to shine and imposed himself as a man of the confrontation, after he returned in the last moments, specifically at the ninetieth minute to score the second personal goal for him and his team, taking advantage of a rebound inside the penalty area following a free kick, to completely eliminate the hopes of the owners to return.

The match was not without difficult moments for the fans of the London club, as goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez suffered a strong injury following a violent air friction with Everton defender Jarad Branthwaite, forcing the medical staff to intervene and transfer him off the field on a stretcher, so that the young Belgian goalkeeper Mike Penders came in as a substitute to complete the remaining minutes of the confrontation.

With such a positive result, Chelsea jumped to fourth place with thirteen points, continuing to compete aggressively within the Golden Square, while Everton’s balance froze at ten points in the sixth place in the Premier League table.
