فجر أسطورة الكرة الإنجليزية “غاري لينيكر” مفاجأة مدوية بعدما طالب إدارة مانشستر سيتي بضرورة تحمّل المسؤولية الكاملة والاعتراف بارتكاب خروقات مالية بدلاً من الإستمرار في الإنكار، مشيراً إلى أن قرار سحب ألقاب الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز التي توج بها الفريق في تلك الفترة لم يعد مستبعداً على الإطلاق.

وجاءت تصريحات قائد إنجلترا الأسبق على هامش حضوره أسبوع القادة الرياضي بملعب ستامفورد بريدج في لندن، مؤكداً أن المشهد الراهن يبدو قاتماً للغاية بالنسبة للنادي ولمستقبل اللعبة في إنجلترا عموماً، وأوضح نجم برشلونة وتوتنهام السابق أن خطوة الاعتراف بالذنب وقبول العقوبات أياً كانت قسوتها تمثل المخرج الوحيد لطي هذه الصفحة القاتمة وإنقاذ ما تبقى من ماء وجه النادي، على الرغم من شكه في اتخاذ الإدارة لمثل هذه الخطوة الجريئة.

وتأتي هذه العاصفة بعدما أدانت لجنة تحقيق مستقلة مانشستر سيتي في الاتهامات الموجهة إليه بخصوص خرق القواعد المالية على مدار تسعة مواسم كاملة امتدت بين عامي 2009 و2018، إلى جانب إدانته في غالبية بنود رفض التعاون مع المحققين، وتتركز القضية حول توقيع عقود رعاية مبالغ فيها وصورية لضخ وتغطية ما يفوق (900 مليون جنيه إسترليني) بطرق غير قانونية، وهو ما نفاه النادي جملة وتفصيلاً عبر تقديم استئناف رسمي.

وفي الوقت الذي أبدى فيه لينيكر حزنه الشديد على جماهير النادي ولاعبيه الحاليين الذين يدفعون ثمن أخطاء الإدارة دون ذنب، تتجه الأنظار نحو جلسات الاستئناف المغلقة وما قد تسفر عنه من قرارات حاسمة، خاصة وأن الفريق يواصل تألقه الفني داخل المستطيل الأخضر باعتلاء صدارة الترتيب بالعلامة الكاملة واستعداده لقمة مرتقبة أمام ليفربول.

This storm comes after an independent investigation committee convicted Manchester City of accusations against him regarding breaking financial rules over the course of nine full seasons between 2009 and 2018, in addition to his conviction in the majority of items refusing to cooperate with investigators, and the case centers around signing exaggerated and sham sponsorship contracts to illegally pump and cover more than (900 million pounds sterling), which the club denied in detail by filing an official appeal.

While Lineker expressed his deep sadness for the club’s fans and current players who are paying the price for management mistakes through no fault of their own, attention is turning to the closed appeal hearings and the decisive decisions that may result from them, especially as the team continues its technical brilliance inside the green rectangle by topping the ranking with full marks and preparing for the upcoming summit against Liverpool.
