The African sports Street is living in a state of cautious anticipation waiting for the last word of the International Court of Arbitration for Sport, which will cut doubt with certainty about the identity of the holder of the African Cup of Nations title after the famous crisis that accompanied the final scene of the tournament.
The Senegalese federation had appealed to the “CAS” Court to appeal the decision of the appeal committee of the African Football Confederation, which ruled earlier to confirm the victory of the Moroccan national team in the title and consider Senegal a loser in the final, after the players of the “Lions of Tiranga” left the green rectangle in objection to a penalty kick awarded by the referee of the meeting in favor of Morocco.
In the latest developments of this file, the director general of the international sports court, Mathieu Reb, made his statements to the French network RMC, where he confirmed the text: “the verdict in the case will not be issued, Most Likely, Today Thursday or tomorrow Friday, explaining that the court may need several days or even weeks before the announcement of the decision, and the duration it will take to issue the verdict depends on the court’s desire to prepare a full decision that includes the legal reasons on which it was based in resolving the case.
This temporary postponement keeps the fate of the continental crown pending for a period that may extend for weeks to come, at a time when reports detected the presence of some fans of the Moroccan national team in front of the court in Switzerland, waiting for the issuance of any official notice to end the controversy over the issue that has preoccupied the African football community.
