أشعل المدرب الإيطالي “أنطونيو كونتي” فتيل التكهنات حول مستقبله التدريبي، بعدما بعث برسائل مبطنة تفتح الباب على مصراعيه أمام إمكانية قيادته لمانشستر يونايتد، في وقت تزداد فيه الضغوط والانتقادات على المدير الفني الحالي “مايكل كاريك”.

وبحسب تقرير نشرته شبكة “رويترز”، باتت الإقالة تهدد كاريك بعد انطلاقة متواضعة للشياطين الحمر في موسم 2026/2027؛ حيث عجز الفريق عن جمع أكثر من 5 نقاط خلال أول 5 جولات في الدوري الإنجليزي، على النقيض تمامًا من الصورة التي ظهر بها الموسم الماضي عندما انتزع المركز الثالث، ولم تتوقف العثرات عند حدود البريميرليج، بل امتدت لتوديع كأس الرابطة من قلب ملعب أولد ترافورد، حين نجح برايتون في قلب تأخره بهدفين إلى انتصار درامي بثلاثية.

كما طالب كونتي أندية الدوري الإنجليزي بضرورة ترشيد إنفاقها المالي الضخم والعمل بموجب استراتيجية رياضية مدروسة، وهي إشارة فهمها الكثيرون بأنها موجهة لمسؤولي أولد ترافورد، ويقضي كونتي حاليا فترة راحة دون ارتباط رسمي منذ رحيله عن نابولي صيف 2026، بعد مسيرة ناجحة توج خلالها بلقب الدوري الإيطالي لموسم 2024/2025، ليضمه إلى سجل ألقابه الحافل مع يوفنتوس وإنتر ميلان وتشيلسي.
