تتجه أنظار عشاق كرة القدم مجدداً نحو كواليس الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم، حيث كشفت صحيفة “ذا أثلتيك” البريطانية عن دراسة الفيفا لمقترح غير مسبوق قد يقلب نظام الساحرة المستديرة رأساً على عقب، ويأتي المقترح حول ترحيل نهائيات كأس العالم 2034، المقرر إقامتها في المملكة العربية السعودية، لتقام في شهري يناير وفبراير من عام 2035 بدلاً من موعدها السنوي المعتاد.

والدافع الرئيسي خلف هذه المداولات لا ينحصر فقط في حرارة الصيف الشديدة التي اعتاد المنظمون تفاديها في منطقة الخليج، بل يرتبط مباشرة بالحسابات الفلكية؛ إذ يتزامن شهري نوفمبر وديسمبر من عام 2034 مع حلول شهر رمضان المبارك، وقد نالت المملكة العربية السعودية رسمياً شرف استضافة المونديال كثاني محطة مونديالية في الشرق الأوسط، وهذا التداخل يضع اللجان المنظمة أمام تحديات لوجستية معقدة، تبدأ من صيام شريحة واسعة من اللاعبين والكوادر الفنية، ولا تنتهي عند مواعيد المباريات النهارية وتنقلات آلاف المشجعين المتوقع تدفقهم إلى المملكة.

ورغم أن الفيفا سبق له كسر القالب التقليدي للبطولة بنقل مونديال قطر 2022 إلى أواخر الخريف، إلا أن خيار نوفمبر وديسمبر لن يكون متاحاً بسهولة هذه المرة، وتزداد المعادلة تعقيداً مع متطلبات الوعاء الزمني للمنافسات؛ فالبطولة تحتاج إلى خمسة أسابيع متصلة على الأقل لإنهاء جدول مبارياتها، خاصة مع طروحات محتملة قد ترفع عدد المنتخبات المشاركة من 48 إلى 64 فريقاً.

وإذا تم التعديل فإنه سيحدث شرخاً في الدورة الرباعية المعتادة للمونديال، إذ ستفصل خمس سنوات كاملة بين نسخة 2030 وبطولة السعودية في 2035، وبالرغم من غرابة الفكرة، إلا أن روزنامة كرة القدم الدولية أثبتت مرونتها سابقاً في ظروف استثنائية، مثلما جرى عند تأجيل بطولة أمم أوروبا لعام كامل وقت جائحة كورونا.

The British newspaper “The Athletic” revealed that FIFA is studying an unprecedented proposal that could turn the witch round system upside down, and the proposal comes about the transfer of the 2034 World Cup, scheduled to be held in Saudi Arabia, to be held in January and February of 2035 instead of its usual annual date.

The main motivation behind these deliberations is not limited only to the intense summer heat, which the organizers used to avoid in the Gulf region, but is directly related to astronomical calculations; as the months of November and December of 2034 coincide with the holy month of Ramadan, and the kingdom of Saudi Arabia has officially won the honor of hosting the World Cup as the Second World Cup station in the Middle East, and this overlap puts the organizing committees in front of complex logistical challenges, starting from the fasting of a wide segment of players and technical staff, and not ending at the day match dates and the movements of thousands of fans expected to flow to the kingdom.

Although FIFA has already broken the traditional template of the tournament by moving the Qatar 2022 World Cup to late autumn, the option of November and December will not be easily available this time, and the equation is complicated by the requirements of the competition’s time pot; the tournament needs at least five continuous weeks to finish its schedule, especially with possible proposals that may increase the number of participating teams from 48 to 64 teams.

If the amendment is made, it will cause a rift in the usual quadruple cycle of the World Cup, as there will be a full five years between the 2030 edition and the Saudi championship in 2035.despite the strangeness of the idea, the international football calendar has proven its flexibility previously in exceptional circumstances, such as when the European Championship was postponed for a whole year during the corona pandemic.
